Middle East General Manager
Overview:
We are looking for a strong entrepreneurial leader who will be instrumental in the success of our new Doha, Qatar business unit. The Middle East General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the business success in the Middle East. He/she develops and implements advanced material handling automation system solutions. He/she assists the President in developing and executing strategic business goals.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to Bastian development activities to support business unit profitable growth.
- Provide vision relative to technology, market trends, government regulation and customer needs as they relate to future state projects.
- Identify technology and project requirements.
- Prepare all sales forecasts and create the new annual budgets.
- Maintain thorough understanding of state of the art engineering and analysis tools and practices and disseminate to engineering teams.
- Establish strategy to support talent development/acquisition, continuous improvement of skill sets, resource allocation methods, project selection criteria, project planning and management methods and other means which support improved execution of development activities.
- Negotiate customer contracts and rates with suppliers.
- Review major proposals for accuracy and risk assessment (terms and conditions) prior to release.
- Continually enhance internal and external processes (automation, policies, procedures, etc.)
- Hire, retain and develop top talent within the Middle East. This includes interviewing new talent and delivering annual performance reviews.
- Coach and mentor the sales force to meet their annual goals and develop their careers
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Engineering with 4 years practical business experience
- AutoCAD experience
- Accounting System / ERP knowledge
- Strong computer skills with: MS Office, Social Networking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous management experience
- Experience in presenting to Sr. Management
- Experience working with vendors/contractors in project management
- Hands on experience with distribution automation especially WMS installs, paperless picking, etc.
- Strong selling and business leadership skills
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and suppliers
