My Experience
I currently am a Controls Project Engineer. My job responsibilities include overseeing a team of engineers and assigning tasks on large projects, designing panels and device layouts, getting quotes and ordering material, programming of systems, programming HMI's and onsite debug for all projects.
Working at Bastian
I really enjoy the freedom to try new technologies. Programming never gets old since a wide variety of PLCs and PC-based controls are used. Not having a single set controls platform is awesome. The challenge of programming new equipment and coming up with new customer cost saving processes is always exciting. Working with a bunch of great people in the Indianapolis office as well as other regional offices makes every day an enjoyment. Relationships with vendors and contractors seem to go smoothly.
Why do customers come back to me?
I think customers continue to partner with us for a variety of reasons, including our dedication to the customer and the comfort knowing we'll be there until the end of the project, the great after-sale support that we provide and the professionalism of BMH.
A little bit about myself
I am originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana. My dad, sisters, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews still live in Fort Wayne. My mother lives in South Carolina. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. Playing with my dog after work is very relaxing. I participate in sand volleyball, indoor volleyball and flag football leagues. I play in the unoffical BMH roller hockey league. I run in 5k up to mini marathon distance races. I also go mountain biking when my bike is repaired from the previous crash. I never turn down an opportunity to travel to warm sunny places or be lazy at the pool/lake.
Project work I am most proud of
I worked on a small project for a pharmaceutical company using a new conveyor manufacturer, new media to communicate with devices and new vision sensors. The project was sucessful from the customers standpoint, has flexibilty for growth without a major overhaul in controls and expanded the Controls group platform. Basically every project where new logic was written or new technologies used were a success are my proudest projects.
