Working as a field sales engineer is always provides new challenges and projects. With a broad range of customers and industries we work with, it allows me to always keep learning something new. This keeps the work more enjoyable and exciting.
Working at Bastian
What I enjoy most about working with BMH is the effort to keep the family company atmosphere. Although BMH has grown to be an industry leader in Material Handling Automation and integration, they done a great job of keeping a small company feel. Bill Bastian leads the way on this making a concerted effort to get to know every individual employ in the company on a personal basis.
Why do customers come back to me?
I feel that my customers continue to come back for help is because of my dedication to work with them to find the best solution and dedication to work through any issues that may arise until they are completely satisfied with the solutions.
A little bit about myself
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. Though still young, my sons have already shown a love for playing outside. I enjoy investing my time in reading for personal development. When I can find the time, I enjoy golf, basketball and football; making sure to watch as many Notre Dame Football games as possible.
Project work I am most proud of
I have worked on several automotive fuel tank handling lines, transporting WIP tanks from one operation to the next. Working with my customer’s project team we were able to provides systems that met the basic needs of a manufacturing plant, but also allowed for great flexibility by merging tanks from multiple press or welding cells and sorting to different assembly stations based on styles.
I was also involved in a large distribution project. This customer needed to sort DVD’s and video games, pack them and ship. It was a very well executed project, with our team installing equipment over and around the existing process in order to not interrupt current production.
