My Experience
My role at BMH is to develop material handling solutions for a very diverse customer base, which requires a wide range of skills. My 26-plus years of experience in this industry have enabled me to master several skill sets, among them engineering, sales, CAD work, project management, problem-solving and communications. Over the years I have successfully implemented numerous turn-key systems for customers in both manufacturing and distribution. The daily challenge of solving my customer's problems and meeting their material handling needs is what I enjoy most about my job. I also enjoy the challenge of finding both the best and most cost-effective solutions for my existing customers and developing new customers.
Working at Bastian
I love working for one of the true leaders in the material handling industry and with the personnel who make up BMH. It is truly a family, and I consider many of my coworkers some of my closest friends. I enjoy that I work for a company that constantly looks for new and innovative solutions to material handling problems. The tools that are developed and available to me as a result provide me with the ability to more easily determine creative solutions for my customers' material handing challenges.
Why do customers come back to me?
Our experience and credibility speaks volumes. I think I offer my customers a far-reaching view based on my wide skill set. I can clearly understand whatever issues they might have and develop solutions that work best for them and that are cost-effective. Credibility plays to both myself and the company. I do what I say I will do, which enables customers to feel secure that I am dependable and trustworthy. BMH has a well-regarded reputation; I believe customers keep returning to BMH because they know that BMH has their best interests at heart. We are regularly brought back in a year or two later after an initial installation to expand or modify systems as our customers grow and expand.
A little bit about myself
I'm the father of three wonderful kids who are my sole responsibility after the passing of my wife in January of 2009. My twin boys are 17 and play club and high school soccer. My 10-year-old daughter also plays club soccer and plays soccer and basketball for her grade school teams. In my limited free time, I enjoy all types of sports as well as time on the lake bass fishing. In the spring, I coach my daughter's grade school soccer team. I get a lot of satisfaction out of working with kids of all ages and seeing their soccer skills develop.

Project work I am most proud of
Through the years, I have been fortunate to work on many exciting and innovative projects. From high-speed sortation projects at 600 ft. per minute to simple gravity conveyor solutions, each project has been unique and satisfying. I consistently find solutions that make the workplace a better place for the customer's work force, which is immensely gratifying as these particular projects typically involve ergonomic solutions and workplace optimization.
