My Experience
I primarily support the engineering sales effort associated with highly automated handling and buffering systems. My specialties include the technical development of AS/RS and AGV concepts, simulation of complex systems, and the data analysis that drives a design. I have also developed an inventory slotting methodology and a slot management tool for use in distribution operations, and I am increasingly working with customers to incorporate Lean solutions in their processes.
Working at Bastian
I enjoy being part of the team at Bastian. We are all professional, and we all work to hold each other accountable to perform credibly and honorably for our customers. The customer is always first. That is important to me.
Why do customers come back to me?
I think we give them value that exceeds their expectations. They know we understand their processes, and we work like solution providers genuinely interested in our customer's success instead of looking like equipment sales men and women.
A little bit about myself
My wife Nancy is a professional counselor, specializing in the area of Adult Career Coaching and Development. We have two children and five grandchildren. My hobbies include Muscle car restoration and model railroading. Nancy's hobbies focus on gardening and reading. We are fairly active as volunteers in our church and community and we live at home in Northern Kentucky at the pleasure of our cat.

Project work I am most proud of
I am proud of an automated wheel handling system developed for a Northern Ohio manufacturer involving 15 AS/RS cranes and approximately 1500 ft of conveyor. The design and execution of a plan to move a major MRO distributor into new facilities led to the development of our slotting methodology and tools. The success of this project led to follow-on projects with sister divisions across the US and Canada.
