My Experience
The Information Analyst Group is always striving to improve our processes in gathering requirements and educating Bastian''s customers on the software they purchase. Our goal is to make sure the software operations are well-defined up front so the team can execute the project effectively. Every day is different at Bastian. I may be working with a customer to define requirements for their system, writing software design documents for our development team, or assisting the Project Manager with an implementation. The variety of tasks makes the environment and my job exciting.
Working at Bastian
The thing I enjoy most about working at ASAP Automation is the opportunity to make a difference for our customers. Our customers are able to stay competitive and lead their industry due to the management and processes we help them implement within the warehouse.
Why do customers come back to me?
Our customers know that ASAP is very open to looking at new processes and software changes. We understand that no one's business is static and all companies have to adapt and grow to meet current business conditions. Customers come back for assistance on new projects because they know we'll carefully evaluate all options to accomplish the requirements.
A little bit about myself
When I'm not working I like to be outside, either working in my garden or walking through one of Louisville's beautiful Olmstead designed parks. I've been submitting culinary entries in the Kentucky State Fair for a number of years and have come away with a number of ribbons, including two Blue Ribbons. My guinea pigs (co-workers) monitor the office kitchen in July & August for samples.
Project work I am most proud of
I've worked on quite a few projects through the years but the most exciting projects are those where the customer is seeing a drastic change in operations. This may be an upgrade to modern software and processes or implementing automation. It's interesting how some companies embrace change and others are resistant. Several years back I assisted a long-term customer with the transition from the old DOS-based system to the latest version of Exacta. That customer had to re-evaluate the processes they were currently using and look at the implementation almost like it was a completely new system. It was exciting to help them discover the new features and benefits of the latest product, especially when we saw opportunities to improve their processes and enhance auditing and tracking capabilities.
