Our Managements Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the managers of Bastian to serve the employees and make them their number one priority. It is the manager's obligation to provide a challenging career, opportunity for growth, clear incentive programs, and a path to success for each employee. It is the employee and manager's responsibility to work together as a team to make the company successful. Managers will have a "hands on" approach to problem solving and will lead by example. Bastian is committed to providing a challenging, professional working environment for all employees. If an employee perceives that a change should be made in the corporation, or in his or her individual treatment, the employee is encouraged to discuss these issues with their immediate manager. If an employee is uncomfortable talking to their immediate manager they may discuss the issue with the President or another member of the management team. It is the company's commitment that all concerns brought to the attention of management will be thoroughly addressed and resolved when possible.

Career Growth Testimonials

At Bastain we look to promote from within.  We have had several employees who have progressed in their careers and grown quickly in to Senior Engineering and Management roles.  Below are just a few examples.

Dan Williams is a Purdue IE graduate who started in Bastian Systems group as a Project Engineer.  After 4 years of successfully designing and managing several large projects he was promoted to Sr. Project Engineer.  With only 6 years at Bastian he has become an expert in Material Handling technology and is now our Systems Operations Manager.

Ahmed Arif started with Bastian as a project engineer. He quickly proved himself as an excellent design engineer who customers enjoyed working with. After 3 years Ahmed was promoted to Field Applications Engineer and is now a Sr. Project Engineer working on one of Bastian’s largest accounts.

 

Nate Richter started with Bastian Automation Engineering after graduating from Rose-Hulman as a Field Applications Engineer. After 2 years of exceeding his sales goals he stepped in to a Sales Manager role and is now leading Bastian Automation Engineering to record growth in annual sales. Nate has recently started the MBA program at Butler and have received additional responsibilities on the financial and business side of BAE.

Vijay Kapila started with Bastian as Controls Software Engineer after graduating with a Master’s Degree from University of Illinois Chicago. He spent 5 years designing electrical systems and controls and writing Software for automation. He worked on numerous successful domestic and international projects. Vijay is now our Controls Operations Manager.

Linda Grady is the Quality Assurance Manager at Bastian Software Solutions. Linda started with the company as an Information Analyst. She was then promoted to Sr. Information Analyst and most recently to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Kevin Alexander joined Bastian Solutions as a recent EET graduate from Purdue University. He jumped right in and got involved in several of Bastian’s large projects. He was promoted to a Sr. Controls Engineer 4 years later and is now our Unified Support Manager over Bastian Controls, Software, Robotics and Bastian Automation Engineering Support.

Training & Development

We believe that hands on learning is the best way to learn.  Our goal is to get new employees exposed to as many projects and applications as we can to fill their tool box with knowledge.  All employees go through a week long New Employee Orientation within their first few months with Bastain.  We encourage all employees to continue their learning and development whether it is attending conferences, taking classes or obtaining certifications.
