Palletizers & Automated Palletizing Equipment
Bastian offers two types of automated palletizing. The first type, robotic palletizing, is becoming more popular and more affordable. Likewise traditional, or conventional, palletizers are also widely used including: Bag palletizers, Case palletizers, and Gantry crane palletizers.
Bastian's engineers are experts in automating palletizing operations thru both robotic and conventional palletizer systems.
Conventional Palletizers In Material Handling Systems
Conventional Palletizers In Material Handling Systems
Conventional palletizers are used to automated the pallet building (palletizing) process in a warehouse,
distribution, or manufacturing facility. These technologies include bag palletizers, case palletizers, depalletizers,
gantry crane palletizers and conveyor based pallet layer formers.

Robotic Palletizers & Robotic Depalletizers
Robotic palletizing provides you with highly customized solution by implementing leading edge
technologies. Palletizing robots can also handle pallets, slip sheets and tier sheets for
completely automatic pallet building and depalletizing operations.

Ancillary Palletizing Equipment
No palletizing operation is completely automated without the integration of some form of ancillary palletizing
equipment. Bastian is happy help you integrate Pallet Conveyors, Pallet Stackers & Dispensers, Pallet Lifts, and
Slip Sheet Bins.

How Automated Palletizers Work
Both conventional palletizers and robotic palletizers are used to automated the pallet building (palletizing) process in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing facility. Depending upon the palletizer many different technologies could be employed to help you make the perfect pallet. Pallets can be built using everything from plastic belt conveyors with rollers that skew the product into place to customized end of arm tools for robots. Additionally, new technologies are emerging to help you build pallets full of mixed cases or products such as bastian's robotic ASRS and mobile robots.
Automated Palletizer Benefits
- Increase speed in palletizing operations over all human operations
- Decrease in injury rates and fatigue to human operators
Conventional Palletizer Benefits
- Conventional palletizers provide palletizing automation at a lower cost on average than robotic palletizers.
- Conventional palletizers are faster than robotic palletizers in some applications.
Robotic Palletizer Benefits
- High capacity - typically 220 – 660 lb, robots are available with 1600 - 2200 lb payloads
- Robotic palletizers typically take up a smaller footprint, require less space, then conventional palletizers
