Business Challenges
- Garmin’s main goal for their Olathe, KS distribution center was to minimize manual touches by automating the majority of manual processes, as well as consolidating required manual activities to a centralized location
- BMH's system needed to accommodate an annual growth rate goal of 30% for five years
Results
- Garmin's old system required two shifts of 20 employees to work 8 hours, while the new system only requires one 10 hour shift of 7-8 employees
- The BMH system has allowed Garmin to automate the majority of their manual operations and maximize employee efficiency
- The new system allows for additional accumulation and two additional fluid load lanes, which will help Garmin achieve annual growth goals for the next five years
