How Pivot Wheel Sorters Work
Pivot wheel sorts using two sets of wheels that pivot independently and in sequence at each diverter, allowing for smaller gaps between products. Adequate product spacing is required to ensure that the divert station has had time to cycle. Product skewing must be provided to position cases for diversion; right hand, left hand or two-sided diverts are available.
Pivot Wheel Sorter Benefits
This sortation equiptment is less costly than a shoe sorter, but are not recommended for real long (greater then 30") or very small products. A very popular choice in medium rate sortation is the pivot wheel sorter, shown here. Pivot wheel sorters typically are belt driven, which provides a reliable method of tracking packages to the divert stations.
