Pivot Wheel Sortation Conveyor
Pivot Wheel Sortation
Pivot wheel sorters are typically belt driven, and sort using two sets of wheels that pivot separately and in sequence, at each diverter station. Pivot wheel sorters run up to 75 cartons per minute.
How Pivot Wheel Sorters Work
Pivot wheel sorter equipment sort using two sets of wheels that pivot separately and in sequence at each diverter, allowing for smaller gaps among products. Adequate product spacing is required to insure that the divert station had time to cycle, and product skewing must be provided to position cases for diversion. Right hand, left hand or two-sided diverts are available.
Benefits of Pivot Wheel Sortation
These are typically less costly than a shoe sorter, but are not recommended for real long or real small product. A very popular choice in medium speed sortation is the pivot wheel sorter, shown here. Pivot wheel sorters typically are belt driven, which provides a reliable method of tracking packages to the divert stations.
