The new PictureView™ PTD device represents the latest technology for picking and putting products. PictureView™ utilizes a bright color OLED display screen for unsurpassed image and text viewing. You now have the ability to show product images, special instructions, and other critical compliance information. PictureView™ PTD also incorporates voice technology to instruct or prompt the operator. PictureView™ PTD devices can be mounted in an infinitely adjustable bus bar or can be used as an independent mobile device on a standard wireless LAN.

The PTD device combines an LED indicator with an Organic Light-Emitting Diode or "OLED" display. This is the first time OLED technology has been employed in a device designed to act as an automation interface for warehouse pick/put operations. The screen is brighter than any other comparable technology - it does not require the "backlighting" used in LCD displays and it functions across a much wider temperature range, making it ideal for use in low temperature environments. The images and text presented on the screen are exceptionally vivid. And, since it can be viewed from an angle of 180 degrees (significantly wider than an LED or LCD display), operators will see the contents displayed on the bright, crisp OLED screen in their peripheral vision. PictureView also incorporates voice technology that can be used to prompt or help instruct the operator. These features lead to reduced search time for operators when compared to "pick/put to light" or any other interface technology. By reducing search time, operators and teams can improve their productivity by as much as 15% when compared to conventional pick to light.

For typical picking operations (standard carton flow rack with approximately 1,000 SKU locations), a PictureView "Pick to Display" system costs between US$140 and $150 per display location. These prices include:

Exacta® Acculight™ Pick To Light (PTL) Technology provides an efficient and very accurate method of picking, putting, sorting, and assembly of products or parts in a wide variety of applications. Picking instructions are immediate and easy for an operator to follow. The WMS is updated in real time after an operator transaction. Individual operator productivity is often 4 to 5 times that of typical paper based picking systems with 99.5%+ accuracy. Orders can be batched with an Exacta® Acculight™ PTL system to provide even further productivity gains.

Pick to Light Operations

1. Picking instructions are provided by answer kits (lamps and quantity display LEDs) that can be checked from up close or from afar.
 
2. The worker performs the picking operation quickly and accurately, without having to carry around a picking list.
 
3. The worker presses a switch to report completion or a missing item to the computer in real time.
