Mixed Load Robotic Palletizing & Automated Palletizing
Mixed load palletizing is the stacking of multiple SKUs on a pallet to maximize pallet density. Loads can be comprised of homogenous layers of any single SKU, or even mixed SKUs within a layer. This technology has exciting implications for the distribution industry where an organization is shipping a variety of SKUs for each order that individually may not comprise a full pallet load. Mixed load palletizing allows optimization of end-of-line automation for these types of businesses.
We can automate your mixed load or rainbow palletizing operations to speed up the delivery of your products to consumers in the form that retailers desire. Let Bastian Robotics show you how!
This technology also automates the building of rainbow pallets, which are increasingly popular with retailers. These pallets can be used as shipped for end of aisle displays, with either columns or layers of SKUs.
How Mixed Load Robotic Palletizing Works
When retailers ask for pallets of mixed products, most companies must typically re-stack pallets by hand. This process can be automated from electronic orders to finished pallets requiring little or no human intervention.
Our Exacta™ Warehouse Management Software interfaces with most ERP systems to electronically process orders, automates the warehouse picking process, and formulates the optimal stacking pattern for the products identified.
Using an automated storage and retrieval system, products are picked and stacked on the unit load pallet. Completed pallets are automatically stretch wrapped, labeled and made ready for shipment.
Automated Guided Vehicles or AGV’s can even be used to load trucks so no human intervention is necessary.
Mixed Load Robotic Palletizing Configurations
Bastian Robotics can provide a completely integrated mixed load robotic palletizing cell with both traditional equipment (i.e. robot palletizers, pallet dispensers, pallet conveyors, and stretch wrappers) as well as custom end of arm tooling, robotic controls and software.
