Robotic Palletizing Series 9000
Bastian Robotics has an outstanding history integrating robotic palletizers throughout North America. With our ability to provide highly customized solutions, implement leading edge technologies, and take a consultative approach to providing solutions, Bastian Robotics is the right partner for providing you with the most cost effective robotic palletizer.
The creativity of our designs enables customers to reduce installation and start-up costs and reduce lead times so the robot can start working for them sooner.
How The Series 9000 Robotic Palletizer Works
Typically bags or boxes are fed into a robotic palletizing cell via conveyor. A palletizing robot picks one or multiple bags, boxes or containers and quickly and accurately places them on a pallet. The pattern is constructed layer by layer until the complete pallet is ready for further processing. Additionally robotic palletizers can pick entire layers at one time. Pallet patterns are programmed into the robot and can easily be changed or added. The palletizing robot can also handle pallets, slip sheets and tier sheets for completely automatic pallet building.
The Series 9000 Robotic Palletizer Configurations
- A single infeed of product and single outgoing pallet conveyor is known as a 1 In/1 Out
- For better robotic utilization cells exist such as 2 In/2 Out, 4 In/2 Out, etc.
- Palletizing robots can also be configured to pick whole layers for pallet placement
- A single robot can be used to depalletize and palletize the same product
- A robot can present a product it has picked for an intermediate function, such as labeling, prior to palletizing
- Many more configurations can be designed suited to customer’s needs
The Series 9000 Robotic Palletizer Benefits
Robots used in palletizing applications have many benefits over manual palletizing as well as &high level) palletizing. These include:
- Increased production
- Increased system reliability
- High uptime (up to 99%)
- High capacity - typically 220 – 660 lb, robots are available with 1600 - 2200 lb payloads
- Reduced costs
- Automatic product change over
- Reduced labor – Typically 1 – 3 people/shift
- Low Maintenance – Mean Time Between Failure ~75,000 hr
- Reduces ergonomic issues
- Flexibility – can easily add new products or change pallet patterns at a later date
- Can be easily reconfigured and re-deployed for business changes
- Smaller footprint uses less space
- Cell layout flexibility
The Series 9000 Robotic Palletizer Applications
Robots can be used to palletize a multitude of different objects, consisting of different shapes, sizes, weights, and materials. The following are examples of areas where robots can
- Cases – such as corrugated boxes, plastic cartons, metal or aluminum cartons containing any variety of products
- Bags – such as rice, corn, animal feed, coffee, etc.
- Bulk Products – such as automotive batteries, bricks, glass or plastic bottles, containers, jugs
- Full Layer - High cycle time application (40 – 60 cases/min.) involving specialized means of pre forming an entire layer of products, picking, and palletizing them in a single cycle
