Stage 3: Database Development
In this stage, the design database is developed against which all viable system
and facility options will be evaluated. Assumptions about growth projections
are specifically defined in this stage.
- Request for operating data – Bastian will request electronic data including product master files and sales history files for your operations. This data will be identified and used at a later time in the design process.
- Request for documented data – Documented data includes activity, cost, operating budget, and performance information.
- Available operating data – At this time, you will submit operating data and associated file formats. From this data, Bastian produces detailed record layouts to echo back its understanding of the data being provided.
- Available documented data – At this point, you will compile and submit to Bastian the requested operating data.
- Database building – Read electronic records provided and create necessary fields and files to proceed with the profile generation stage.
