Stage 4: Profiles Generation
This stage involves building computer database models to gain a full understanding
of the key issues, and to examine the practical alternatives.
- Develop current profiles – Bastian will buildcomputer databases which maintain information about the current period demand on each SKU. The resulting SKU frequency distribution is correlated to various activity profiles including item, inventory, and order profiles.
- Project future requirements – Bastian will present current profiles to you at this time. These requirements will define future levels of activity for the facility from client’s business plans, forecasts, and objectives.
- Develop projected profiles – Bastian will re-build computer databases which maintain information about the projected period demand of each SKU in terms of lines, units, cube, or other significant variable for each distribution operation. The resulting SKU frequency distributions are correlated to various activity profiles including item, inventory, and order profiles.
