BMH Robotics is pleased to announce the addition of two PhD graduates from the University of Notre Dame, Biao Zhang and Sam Chen. As Robotics and Vision System Engineers they will be responsible for Research & Development projects, as well as developing robotic prototypes and successfully bringing new products and technologies to market. “We are very pleased to have Biao and Sam join the team at BMH Robotics. Their expertise in the field of vision guided robotics will allow us to lead the way with new applications in the material handling industry” said Bill Bastian II, President of BMH Robotics. Biao Zhang and Sam Chen both received their Bachelors Degrees from Tsinghua University in Beijing, considered to be the foremost university for engineering in China. While pursuing his PhD at Notre Dame Biao had the opportunity to work on two vision-guided robotics palletizing systems for Altivity, receive his certification in Advanced KAREL program training with FANUC, and research the application of industrial robots using vision and force control with ABB’s corporate research center. Sam was responsible for upgrading robotic production units as a Robotic System Engineer with Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. He also worked as a Research Assistant at the Vision-Guided Robotics Lab at Notre Dame while pursuing his PhD, after which he was employed as Lead Engineer in Robotics and Vision for Jarvis Products Corporation.
