November 11, 2015 (Dallas, TX) – Bastian Solutions, a global material handling systems integrator, announced today the hiring of Joe Zoghzoghy as Mobile Robotics Manager. The new role and business venture is a result of a rising need for mobile robots to pick orders in automated distribution centers.
“In working with several customers, we realized an opportunity and need for mobile robotic solutions that were not available in the current market,” explained Bill Bastian II, CEO of Bastian Solutions. “Based on requests from key customers it became necessary to build our team of experts. Joe is an excellent addition, bringing with him a vast knowledge of robotic systems and product development.”
Zoghzoghy has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University and a background in robotics, mechatronics, and electro-mechanical design. In his new role, he will oversee the design, development, and commissioning of Bastian Solutions’ new mobile robotic systems.
“Product development is a passion of mine and allows me to use my technical and analytics skills,” stated Zoghzoghy. “I am looking forward to the new challenge as well as the opportunity to work with a great team of engineers. It is an exciting time to be in this field. Robotic technology and vision based picking systems continue to improve each year.”
Bastian Mobile Robotics is located in Dallas, TX, and plans to release two initial mobile robot designs in 2016.
